Responsibilities

The post holder carries continuing responsibility for the operational management and decision making for flow and capacity throughout NHS Lanarkshire.

They also have authority to ensure that processes are in place for the management of flow and capacity, and for the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes to improve flow and capacity and standards of care.

Ensuring all patients who require admission to hospital via an emergency route are assessed and allocated to a bed within a 4‑hour period.

This role works closely with clinical teams in Emergency Departments and senior clinical decision‑makers and works closely with clinical teams in all specialities including critical care.
