Overview

Island Health has an opportunity for a full-time Anesthesiologist to join a team of five colleagues in a busy anesthesia practice at the Cowichan District Hospital. The role will support the expansion of services to meet increasing surgical demand and prepare for the occupation of the new hospital in 2027.

The Cowichan District Hospital is a 134-bed acute care facility located in Duncan, Vancouver Island. The new facility is expected to open in 2027 and will provide expanded inpatient, operating room, and ICU capacity.

Members are affiliated with the University of British Columbia’s Island Medical Program and provide teaching to medical students and residents.

Responsibilities

Provide anesthetic care in the existing 134-bed hospital and in the new 200+ bed hospital when it opens, supporting general and specialty surgical services.
