Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle on long-haul routes, primarily on theDempster Highway to Inuvik, with flexibility to go to other points in the Manitoulin network.
  • Ensure safe and timely delivery of cargo while adhering to all transportation regulations and company policies
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain truck safety and compliance
  • Accurately complete and maintain all required documentation, inspection reports, and delivery receipts
  • Use an Electronic Logging Device to maintain hours of service
  • Navigate challenging road conditions, including gravel roads, ice roads, and mountain passes
  • Manage load securement and weight distribution to ensure safe transport
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other drivers using various communication tools
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting as needed...
