Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist (Band 8B) to join the multidisciplinary team on Beechdale ward, an older people inpatient unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the psychology service on the ward, including service development, evaluation and supervision of the Assistant Psychologist.
• Provide psychological assessments (cognitive, risk, clinical) and interventions in evidence‑based practice for older people with dementia and complex mental health problems.
• Support ward staff with psychological formulation, advice and training to deliver psychologically‑informed care.
• Contribute to the transformation of older people’s wards, applying change‑management and leadership skills.
• Maintain governance, risk management and information‑governance procedures.
• Engage in research, audit and service improvement activities.
