Job Description

Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Manager, Health Services - Diabetes Education Centre, the incumbent is responsible for

  • Teaching all aspects of diabetes self management to inpatients, outpatients and their families.
  • Providing in-service education to staff and students.
  • Developing, assessing and revising educational materials.

    • Experience


  • Minimum three (3) years recent experience in Diabetes Education is required.
  • Previous experience in adult teaching preferred.

    • Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing, required.
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • Certified Diabetes Educator required (candidates eligible and willing to write the exam at the next available opportunity will be considered). (Note: Continuing employment in the position is conditional upon passing the exam).
