Detailed Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Health Services, the Eye Center Aide assists the surgical team by performing such duties as picking and distributing OR instrument sets, supplies and equipment for opthalmology cases according to established procedures; assisting the operative team with preparation of surgical setup, take down and transfer of instruments to SPD; transporting patients from the operating room to the recovery room and maintaining implant records. Responsibilities Reviews OR slates and identifies opthamology cases for next day. Picks and distributes OR instrument sets, supplies and equipment for opthamology cases according to established procedures. Assists with room set-up by removing dirty case carts and replacing with clean sterile case carts. Re-assembles supplies and instrument trays on sterile case carts.
