EYFS Teaching Assistant

Sense Education is currently looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to start ASAP in the Carlisle area. The role is to support a pupil 1:1 with additional needs in a school setting.

Your Role – as an Early Years Teaching Assistant

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support 1:1 and small group learning through play‑based, sensory, and exploratory activities
• Help children access the EYFS curriculum using creative, hands‑on approaches
• Encourage early milestones in communication, independence, and social engagement
• Use visuals, sensory play, and interactive routines to build understanding and confidence
• Assist with daily routines such as toileting, mealtimes, and outdoor play in a caring, respectful way
