Job Description
Overview
The Safety Coordinator is a health & safety generalist responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Companyβs occupational health and safety program in strict compliance with the Canada Labour Code (Part II), federal regulations and WorkSafeBC requirements. This role partners closely with the HR Team and site leadership to foster a culture of safety, minimize risk, and ensure continuous regulatory compliance across all locations.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Regulatory Compliance & Policy Management
- Annually review the corporate Health & Safety Manual, ensuring alignment with the Canada Labour Code, Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, marine, forestry, and transportation safety protocols.
- Monitor legislative changes and advise HR on required policy or procedure updates.
- Support the Workplace Health & Safety Committee.
