Summary of the role

The Hydraulic Design Engineer – Research and Development will support the hydraulic design process through research projects in fluid dynamics and development of new numerical methods. The candidate will support personnel related to the design of hydraulic passageways of hydro turbines at all stages for both current units, runner replacements and rehabilitation projects. Main Responsibilities

Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses. Develop new analytical and numerical methods and tools to support hydraulic design tasks. Additional Responsibilities

Definition, development, maintenance, and modification of hydraulic engineering tools and processes. Support for bids, including preliminary design and design reviews. Analysis of design requirements. Development of hydraulic designs for turbine components of various types. Collaboration with the hydraulic laboratory team in Linz for model turbine development.
