Overview

This position is responsible for performing simple and complex sample preparations and extractions, routine laboratory maintenance tasks and simple analyses.

Responsibilities

• Sample disposal
• Assist analysts
• Retrieve samples from storage
• Store samples in sample cooler
• Weighing and traying samples under supervision
• Operate lab instrument/equipment such as pipettes, shakers, centrifuges, pH meters, etc.
• Perform instrument/equipment calibration, maintenance and repair as required
• Perform sample preparation – filtration, screening, extraction and digestion
• Prepare all required reagents, standards, reference materials, etc.
• Carry out all required data processing (calculations, data review, data entry, archival, etc.)
• Carry out all required record‑keeping and documentation
• General laboratory clean‑up and maintenance; monitor controlled equipment
