Technician allocation is higher than industry benchmark would suggest to account for diverse case mix and pathology that our ODs will see in the medical setting.  In the retail setting, this additional allocation helps our optometrists to prioritize efficiency and speed in their practice to treat patients quickly and effectively. All technicians are scribe trained as well and can offer a diverse range of skills for use by our optometrists at any time.
