Job Function

Under the direction of Supervisor or other solicitors analyze, assess, prosecute and defend liability and damage claims. Supervise the prosecution and defense of such claims by agents on the Company’s behalf. Process through Superior Court of Justice (Provincial Court Civil Division - (/)Small Claims Court & Simplified Procedure) claims within that Court's jurisdiction. Assist other solicitors in processing legal proceedings by investigating, interviewing and organizing and summonsing witnesses, organizing court documents, preparing Affidavits of Documents, drafting pleadings for Supervisor and other solicitors, as required. Prepare standard court forms, file documents and process serving court documents; draft correspondence; engage in settlement discussions and settle claims; prepare files for Pretrial and Trial, including trial briefs, as required.
