Job Description
Shape the literary landscape with HarperCollins Canada as a Production Editor. This role allows you to work on a variety of titles in a rewarding hybrid environment.
In this position with Creative Operations, you will bring at least two years of production editing experience, preferably in trade book publishing. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with authors and editors, overseeing freelance work, and ensuring quality control throughout the production process. Proficient skills in copyediting, along with a strong familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and the Chicago Manual of Style, are essential for success in this fast-paced role.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Assess manuscripts for quality and style
β’ Hire and supervise freelance editorial staff
β’ Manage proofs and PDFs at all production stages
β’ Edit jacket and back cover copy thoroughly
β’ Facilitate project coordination and maintain deadlines
Requirements:
β’ Minimum of 2 years in production editorial
