We’re supporting specialist schools in South Shields looking for compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistants to work with pupils with autism and additional communication needs.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting pupils with autism during learning and transitions
• Using visual aids and communication strategies
• Promoting emotional regulation and engagement
• Working closely with teachers and therapists
• Helping pupils build confidence and independence

What we’re looking for

• Qualified TA status (Level 2/3 or equivalent)
• Experience supporting autism or complex needs
• A consistent, reliable, and nurturing approach
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• A commitment to inclusion and child‑centred support
