Summary of Duties

A Registered Nurse (RN) who is part of the Heart Function (HF) clinic provides holistic, high quality and safe care to patients prescribed by the physician and in compliance with the College of Nurses of Ontario. They provide direct care to outpatients with complex care needs within the HF clinic. Although the position is based within the Schulich Heart Program, it will also require collaboration with the Transfusion Medicine team to provide occasional cross‑coverage while utilizing the transfusion medicine clinic space for services related to HF clinic patients.

The main functions of the RN include, but are not limited to:

• Receives patients into clinic, obtains and documents nursing assessment, vital signs and assists with the administration of quality of life questionnaires (i.e. KCCQ‑12).
