This position reports to our Government Accounting Manager supporting our accounting functions with a focus on billing our governmental customers.This position is an on-site position with the opportunity for a hybrid remote work schedule.
**Responsibilities**:- Prepare weekly invoices to government customers for multiple contracts/vessels.
- Monthly tracking and follow-up of unbilled receivables.
- Process monthly journal entries.
- Assist with account reconciliations.
- Review detailed supporting documentation to ensure it meets requirements of government customers for billing purposes.
- Research and review accounting records for proper documentation, if missing.
- Create adjusting journal entries to correct errors in coding, when needed for proper categorization for billing purposes.
- Creation of overtime billing schedules in Microsoft Excel, with reconciliation to payroll.
- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures.
