SIDE HOE EXCAVATOR OPERATOR – Water & Sewer Construction

Approximate start date: April 2026

This role supports underground water and sewer installations following earthworks. The operator works alongside the mainline crew, assisting with service connections, trench support, and detailed excavation work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience operating excavators in underground water and sewer construction.
• Experience pulling away from the mainline hoe, swinging in pipe, and bringing aggregate and material into the ditch for support excavation alongside mainline work.
• Ability to work accurately around existing utilities and live services.
• Comfortable following direction from the Topman and Foreman.
• Strong awareness of trench safety, shoring, and ground conditions.
• Ability to work efficiently around pipe layers and labour crew.
