DESCRIPTION:

The Speech- Language Pathologist’s principal functions are to assess and treat persons with communication and swallowing disorders. The Speech- Language Pathologist is an integral member of the interprofessional team. Through the provision of patient and non-patient care responsibilities, the Speech- Language Pathologist enhances the quality of life of patients by assessing, planning and implementing plans of care to maintain, improve and restore communication and swallowing function. The Speech-Language Pathologist also supervises/mentors students and new clinical staff.
