Job Description
The University of Ottawa seeks a part-time instructor for the Introduction to Syntax course in Winter 2027. Deliver in-person education on key syntactic theories and analysis.
This role is for a Regular Part-Time Professor within the Faculty of Arts, requiring a Ph.D. in Linguistics with a specialization in syntax. You will instruct undergraduate students, fostering their understanding of syntactic structures in a class of approximately 90. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach core principles of syntactic theory and analysis
• Develop course content and instructional methods
• Facilitate engaging classroom discussions
• Evaluate and guide student projects and assignments
• Participate in academic departmental activities
Requirements:
• Ph.D. in Linguistics required (in progress acceptable)
