Your Opportunity:

The Unit Clerk provides clerical support to staff and physicians on the nursing unit. This includes handling or referring incoming phone calls, greeting, and directing visitors and patients and ensuring that the whereabouts of staff is always known. The Unit Clerk manages the information flow between Physicians, Nurses, and the multidisciplinary team. This includes relaying information related to admissions, transfers and discharge of patients, diagnostic tests, medical treatments, medications, and pre- and post-operative treatments as requested. This position also transcribes and processes Doctor's orders including medication orders, laboratory orders, diagnostic imaging orders, other diagnostic studies, and treatment orders. The Unit Clerk manages patient records and charts and may prepare and submit health care billings on behalf of Physicians for a variety of procedures, treatments, and services.
