A Toronto-based client is looking for a US GAAP Lease Accounting Expert to facilitate the conversion from ASPE to US GAAP. This role involves critical analysis and documentation.
The expert will lead the transition of the lease portfolio, ensuring compliance with ASC 842 by calculating necessary right-of-use assets and preparing balance sheet adjustments. In addition, drafting technical memos that outline conversion methodologies is essential. Expertise in US GAAP ASC 842 is required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review current leases for ASC 842 compliance
• Calculate right-of-use assets and lease liabilities
• Prepare opening balance sheet adjustments for audits
• Document conversion methodology through technical memos
• Develop disclosures per US GAAP guidelines
Requirements:
• Must have CPA designation (Canada or US)
• Expertise in ASC 842 and GAAP conversions
• Experience leading complex conversion projects
• Strong Excel technical skills required
